I always thought that I was a horrible mom to Siri.

I always thought that I was a horrible mom to Siri.

Seeing this picture I remembered the day I was holding this beautiful treasure of mine. Delivered my precious after being bedridden for three very long months because of high blood pressure.

Finally, after the baby arrived, I didn’t get to have a good night sleep as she was constantly demanding to be with me. She didn’t want to be with her dad but only with me. I remember not getting a chance to have a meal without being anxious about the baby crying for me. Her dad managed the cooking and cleaning in the house while working...

"My Name is Siri" is a documentary in the making.

"My Name is Siri" is a documentary in the making.

An inspiring story that must be told:

We are the Chettipally family. We struggled for two decades before discovering a place in the world for our daughter, Siri, who is severely challenged by autism. Siri showing improvements in her communication skills ...

In the morning after CARD and breakfast, I requested Siri to continue working on the bag inserts for Autism Society of Wisconsin Conference. I asked her “Siri you want mommy to help you or no”? After I left the kitchen she worked for 30mts more and then the stapler sound stopped. I didn’t go to check on her as I know she is watching her YouTube channel. I could hear the dance songs of Telugu, Hindi and...

Siri's ability to recall ...

Siri this evening came to me with a hair brush, a comb and her hair dryer and said “mommy to do my hair”. I was almost done with my coffee, I took my final sip and told Siri to put away my coffee cup in the kitchen.

She went and came back. I dried her hair for about 20mts and applied some oil to detangle her hair. Then asked Siri where is the hair brush ? She immediately said “in the kitchen”.

This is the ability to “recall”. Siri has been struggling with this concept from the beginning. If this was...

Siri for a blood test with only mom for the first time.

Siri for a blood test with only mom for the first time.

Siri had blood test today.  She was so well behaved, she took the number and sat down for her turn.  She was listening to the numbers being called and was checking her slip to see if it’s hers. She patiently waited until they called hers and went to register.  After registration she had to wait for another line to be called where they do the actual blood draw.

She went when called and sat with a smile on her gorgeous face.  The technician asked if we were related to the doctor to which she said “yes”. I was pleasantly surprised....
