I always thought that I was a horrible mom to Siri.
Finally, after the baby arrived, I didn’t get to have a good night sleep as she was constantly demanding to be with me. She didn’t want to be with her dad but only with me. I remember not getting a chance to have a meal without being anxious about the baby crying for me. Her dad managed the cooking and cleaning in the house while working...
"My Name is Siri" is a documentary in the making.
An inspiring story that must be told:
We are the Chettipally family. We struggled for two decades before discovering a place in the world for our daughter, Siri, who is severely challenged by autism. At age 22, Siri discovered a talent and passion for making beautiful jewelry, which she now distributes widely. Our short documentary is aimed at a wide audience - not just families who face the extraordinary challenges of raising a child with autism, but anyone yearning for a story of perseverance, faith and hope. Our goal is to help others, show them that they are not alone,...
Siri showing improvements in her communication skills ...

Siri was happy this morning, when I asked her to empty the dishwasher. She not only emptied but also loaded it after. She was singing while doing her work.
Off she goes with the umbrella for the first time. Siri is smart, patient (just like her dad) and can do any task if taught the way she can learn.
My sweet girl Siri
Siri's ability to recall ...
Siri this evening came to me with a hair brush, a comb and her hair dryer and said “mommy to do my hair”. I was almost done with my coffee, I took my final sip and told Siri to put away my coffee cup in the kitchen.
She went and came back. I dried her hair for about 20mts and applied some oil to detangle her hair. Then asked Siri where is the hair brush ? She immediately said “in the kitchen”.
This is the ability to “recall”. Siri has been struggling with this concept from the beginning. If this was...
